Reducing the environmental footprint.

NOS, as a business, are willing to take several steps to continuously minimize our environmental footprint.

•Energy Efficiency: NOS has implemented energy-efficient practices throughout the organization. This includes optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, upgrading to energy-efficient lighting, and utilizing smart building automation systems to optimize energy consumption.

•Renewable Energy: Increased the use of renewable energy sources within NOS's operations. At our new location at Dusavik will NOS also invest on-site renewable energy generation, such as solar panels and sea water heating.

•Emission Reduction: NOS has set targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implement strategies to achieve them. This involves transitioning to low-emission vehicles for company fleets, promoting telecommuting and video conferencing to reduce travel-related emissions, and optimizing logistics and transportation to minimize fuel consumption.

•Waste Management: NOS-group continuously improves waste management practices by implementing recycling programs, composting organic waste, and reducing overall waste generation. Set up clear guidelines for waste sorting and disposal within NOS's premises and encourage employees to adopt sustainable practices.

•Paperless Operations: We minimize paper usage by digitizing documents, implementing electronic workflows, and encouraging employees to use digital communication and collaboration tools. Emphasize the use of electronic signatures and online document management systems to reduce paper waste.

•Supplier Engagement: We collaborate with suppliers who share NOS's commitment to sustainability. Encourage them to adopt environmentally friendly practices, reduce packaging waste, and prioritize sustainable sourcing. Consider incorporating sustainability criteria into the supplier selection process.

•Employee Awareness and Engagement: NOS-Management continuously educate and engage employees on environmental sustainability. We offer training programs and workshops to raise awareness about sustainable practices, encourage them to contribute ideas for improvement, and recognize and reward their efforts in reducing the company's environmental impact.

•Measurement and Reporting: Management regularly monitor, measure, and report on key environmental performance indicators. This helps NOS-group to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and communicate its sustainability achievements transparently to stakeholders.

•Collaboration and Partnerships: NOS-group seeks opportunities to collaborate with industry peers, environmental organizations, and governmental bodies to collectively address environmental challenges. Engage in sustainability initiatives, share best practices, and actively participate in industry-wide efforts to reduce the environmental footprint.

By integrating these actions into NOS's operations and continually evaluating and improving its sustainability efforts, the company can and will effectively minimize its environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.

As a chemical and mechanical company, we take our environmental responsibility very seriously in everything we do. NOS and its subsidiaries have always had a strong focus on avoiding emissions to nature, recycling waste, and being conscious of choosing as well as offering environmentally friendly solutions.

NOS follows the Norwegian Environment Agency and ECHA guidelines to stay in conformity with rules and regulations for REACH and CLP.

Nevertheless, we work actively with the UN's sustainability goals to take responsibility for reducing our emissions and ensure that we have a focus on justice within ED&I in our company and operations. An example is NOS collaboration with NEMS, where the main goal is to reduce CO2 emissions through smarter deliveries.

NOS have newly developed an action plan with consultancy company NEMS who is specialized in Scope 3 emissions to identify emission hot spots in the supply chain of these chemicals and implement abatement measures when possible.
